Here are my specs:
Windows XP professional
2GB ram
3.0 GHz P4 processor
using:
9500GT graphics card
onboard 5.1 audio on Nvidia Nforce 680i LT SLI motherboard.
The problem i am having is that when i try to play a DVD in any of my DVD playing programs (WMP11, VLC, AVSdvdplayer) either the system crashes or when using WMP11 there is a partial crash which can be fixed by ejecting the DVD (sometimes).
I use nvidia Pure video decoder and i have realktek HD sound installed.
The problem has never arisen before.
I figured out what is causing the problems but not sure how to fix it.
I uninstalled the realtek sound software and DVD's played fine (but obviously no sound)
Is there a solution that doesnt involve buying an audio card?
Also my windows error logs tell me there is a problem when paging error on the cdrom and an error (bad block) on IDEport0. Looking back over my months even viewer the cdrom error only appeared today.
With the realtek driver uninstalled try searching on Microsoft update for updates and hopefully it will find a windows sound driver thar you can use
