FPS drop in most of my games

Hey FP

My computer keeps dropping FPS, hard, in most of my games. It comes with intervals. Here's an example:

It runs smooth as fuck for like 3-4 minutes, at all settings maxed out, then it lags like hell. Makes it impossible to play, for like 30-45, then it starts over.

Just recently reinstalled Windows, and my comptuer isn't overheating. I have the latest GPU driver, but I don't know if there's anything else I can install?

Any tips?

Specs:
3,0 gHz AMD Quadcore
8GB Ram
1024 MB nVidia GTX285
Win7 x64

Formula one 2010
Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2010
Mafia II
GTA IV

1) Post temps during game play for GPU, CPU, HDD (if you can). I know you said it doesn't overheat, but I want proof /arms-crossed
2) Make sure you turn off Windows Search (indexer), if you play off the same hard drive it could lag a bit (not "lag like hell" but still).

To be honest I have no clue if it's too hot, lol.

I just remember the last time, the problem was it being too hot, and now I vacuum it regularly. It's about a week ago I vacuumed it last. Vacuuming was what helped last time.

GPU is a bit hot download a program called EVGA precision and see if you can tru nthe fan speed up and see if that makes a difference. Your cpu is a bit hot too CPU's shouldn't really be anywhere near or past 60C. Think about applying some thermal compound onto it like artic sliver 5. If all fails you will need either a new computer case, put it in a cooler area, invest in new fans and heatsink.

Because heat slows down GPUs.

Check for dust on/in the GPU heatsink. Though those temps aren't too alarming.
