How do I make a DualShock3 (Playstation 3 controller) work on my PC?

So, I just recently got a PS3 and two controllers. Now, when I am not playing the PS3 (little brother wants to play too) I want to connect the controller to my computer and play games, fx. Need for Speed: Paradise City etc.

I have already tried googlin' it but non of the things that came up worked. Can someone please guide me through the steps of installing a controller?

I don't know if this is the wrong section, I maybe should have PM'd an admin. Sorry bout that.

I know because I played L4D splitscreen through PS3 controller with USB

Sure it may be, but it's too complicated for me.

I use motionjoy to get mine to work without a bluetooth dongle, and it is incredibly simple as well.
If you have previously tried to use your playstation 3 controller with another software, you are going to want to delete the drivers from it and only use the ones motionjoy has, otherwise it will not be detected by the program.

you dont need one, just plug the controler in to the computer, then instal the drivers through the motionjoy program
