I have a really good laptop, but they've all been running slow lately.
gmod, tf2, css, all of them.
I've defragged my hardrive and the games themselves through Steam, but no luck. did a spyware scan, heard that could be a problem; but nothing.
I'm also overheated everytime I play Metro 2033.
I've got a Toshbia Qosmio X505 laptop.
please help me :(
Is anything using a lot of CPU or memory in background?
I usually close anything running in the background when I play. doesn't seem to help.
Is the laptop plugged in? If it isn't you will get better performance with it plugged in.
yes plugged in, fully charged pretty much 24/7.

capable of running everything on high, I've done it before.
Make sure the power mode is set to performance and not power saving or balanced.
For me, gmod is running like crap lately while css and tf2 are fine.
