Pretty much :buddy:
Glad I'm about to buy one.

Just purchased one myself. My E7200 Core 2 Duo couldn't keep up with my GTX 260 Core 216.

Good luck getting it anywhere near 6.4. Any idea what line it's from?
Rated late because this has been done a long time ago. I also don't see why anyone cares if a Phenom II x4 can get to 6.4 GHz because you can't keep it there for any significant period of time to perform any meaningful function. Even if you had an infinite supply of LN2, there's no guarantee the system will run reliably for any given period of time being that cold with those ridiculous clocks and voltages.
Just need to get a new mounting bracket and I should be able to get one with the new 890x chipset. My E8500 is good for gaming but shows its age if you like when it comes to multi tasking.

You must be doing some insane MT if you can slow an E8500 down. I was running on an E8400 for a year and a half and I couldn't slow it down with all of the MT I do.
I'd have Garry's Mod open, Hammer open, probably 20 tabs in the systray of various support applications (photoshop, 3ds max, guistudiomdl, notepad++, several explorer windows) and FireFox with another 15-20 tabs to various web pages. I run out of RAM long before I even begin to get close to the limits of the CPU.
After my E8400 motherboard died, I got a i5-750. The extra two cores make compiles faster, but I still can't get to a point to overload it and cause everything to slow down.

I just find alt-tabbing out of games and such to slow down my system a lot, even on games like WoW.
Run them in windows..

Get more ram.
That's fucking mad.
I think I saw a pc overclocked to around 8, but I am not sure.
holy fuck. and we thought the i7 overclocks good.
Do you guys think the 955 would overclock to near the same results?

Only Netburst based processors have ever been clocked that high.

Give or take 500 mhz. Depends what stepping too.
