I currently have the free version of Zone Alarm. I don't like that it doesn't have a lot of advanced settings, such as opening certain ports. Any other (good) free firewalls that will allow me to do so (prefer that it has an easy to use UI).
COMODO Firewall
COMODO Firewall
Comodo is secure, but the amount of nagging it does outweighs the benefits.
Get Online Armor if you need a firewall that bad, but anything other than the Windows Firewall is redundant if you're hiding behind a router/hardware firewall.
Windows firewall, as long as you have commonsense 2009 Silver edition or greater you should be okay
Windows Firewall is trash.

Since when does a firewall have anything to do with common sense? I can understand not downloading suspicious programs, but a firewall's not going to stop you there. (Well, it might try and stop outgoing connections, but that's only one thing a firewall does)
And to respond to the OP. Yeah, I used to have ZA free too, but then it started acting up, and I needed to open ports, so I just uninstalled it and switched to Windows Firewall, which probably doesn't really do much of anything, but since I'm behind a router...
I agree with JIAC here, if you have a router, you don't really need to bother with a firewall.

I don't torrent, don't visit sketchy websites, no viruses as of yet or had my info jacked. Lack of Common sense is 99% of the reason people get hacked, or viruses.
You failed to answer my question. I was wondering what common sense had to do with a firewall, this being a topic on firewalls and all.
Doesn't change the fact that common sense or not, you can be infected 100 times more easily if you're not running UAC/Anti-Virus/Some sort of firewall.

if you have nothing that may be sketchy on your PC or sendng data into your pc, then that basic firewall is going to be fine for those random things.

They've improved it a lot lately, it nags way less than it used to.

Online Armor fucked my computer and made it slow then it should have been :(
Windows Firewall is a best firewall. It is built-in, stateful firewall that is included in Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 1 and later,Windows XP with Service Pack 2 and later.

Honestly, Windows Firewall is rubbish on XP.
"XP's Windows Firewall cannot block outbound connections; it is only capable of blocking inbound ones."
Clearly the best firewall around.
Tried Comodo and it gave me nothing but annoyances. Windows Firewall is fine and Microsoft Security Essentials make a good combo.
Comodo is a piece of shit that fucks with everything and is such a pain in the ass to remove. The uninstaller still leaves traces of it behind and fucks with your shit.
I use Comodo, it's worked perfectly for me :O
Windows firewall is fine if your already behind a router. I use Microsoft Security Essentials and common sense, so I'm fine.
Windows Firewall is trash regardless of anything.
