• Transmission acting nutty
    2 replies, posted
For some reason or another, I can't Transmission to run properly on my file server anymore. Ever since I moved it over to a different system, it has never worked quite the same. On my old desktop, it worked quite well giving me no problems. Now, its a lot of work to get one torrent to even start. At first, the web gui would just randomly stop responding, forcing me to go into SSH and restart it everytime. Now, they don't start no matter what. I keep getting permission errors from the web gui. At first I thought it was the external hard drive being quirky with permissions, so I set the download directory to be on the internal drive. No dice. Then I set it to the home directory for transmission (you know, since it runs under the transmission username, you think it would work). And I still don't have file permissions! :wtc: SMB, FTP, and SSH are all functioning fine, just transmission is acting up. Any advice for those who are more familiar with this?
Have you got write / execute permissions on the download directory?
Yes. That was one of the first things I checked.
