I have a $350 budget for replacing the hunk of shit that we have for a computer. I'd like at least a dual core processor and at least 2GB RAM. No need for a hard drive, already have one.
how about an OS
Monitor?
if you need either an OS or monitor it'll be pretty tough to get a decent computer
Looks like it's time for a hobo build! It's possible to get something for that amount of money, but it will be easier for us if you let us know what you already have.
Like i said people, i already have an OS, that's why i said i already have a hard drive. and i do have a monitor. I also have a cheap entry level video card, 8400gs, mainly used for HD video.
$355 grand total, with $20 rebate

and you can play modern games on it too
Wow. I said i didn't need a graphics card though, but yeah, awesome. Always bet on FP for having great ideas for computers, i'll discuss this one and see if it works. Actually, i looked at the graphics cards on newegg and for the price of that GTS450, i could probably get 2 5770's in crossfire.

You're going to get two 5770s for $100? Good luck.

stick with the 450, two 5770 would be painful to add into a hobo build
What games do you want to play?
