What are good websites to learn from?
I tried Google, but the first page had a picture of what was clearly an alienware, on a page about building computers as an example, so I left.
The second looked promising, but I was on the page about graphics cards and it said: "Unless you are playing game such as Half-life 2, which demands a lot of processing power".
Very outdated.
Anyway, where is the best place to find information about building computers?
The way that I learned was experience. Open up your computer, look at all the parts, take out the ram, put it back in, and just examine how stuff all fits together. Building computers is actually incredibly simple. It's more simple than putting together a model car, much simpler. But knowing how to put a computer together is only half of it. You need to know what parts work with other parts. You can't just order some parts and expect them to work together. Go on Newegg.com and put all the parts that you THINK you need and you THINK that would work in the shopping cart, then post your build here. We will tell you what is wrong and right. Then if you are confident, you could actually order them and build yourself a new computer.
I learned from my dad ordering parts and helping me build mine. I learned an incredible amount just in a few hours from having a hands-on experience. I then successfully built my friends computer without having ANY other experience other than those few hours.
Hang around this section. Seriously. Read threads. Lots and lots of threads.
