hats everywhere
Probably the most obvious "cashcow" "update" from Valve yet, I mean, most gift, map stamps and duels? Some people WILL spend lots (and I mean LOTS) of cash on this.
Looks like vALVE needs more money for the development of Episode 3...
Seriously?...

Still though, its nice that they get to make money from what is a hobby.
If only there was a machine to produce dosh from hats.
If only there was a machine to produce dosh from hats.
Maybe they should just make real hats and sell those.
I don't see a reason why people are crying about this. Unless they play hat simulator 2 where their goal is to get all hats instead of playing the game [sp]also those people should go fuck themselves and die[/sp]
Well I guess I should appreciate that it's merely cosmetic. I'll start protesting the day Valve rolls out non-cosmetic items for real money.
Well I guess I should appreciate that it's merely cosmetic. EDIT: Unless you're talking about non-craftable items only.
Couldn't care less about this game anymore
They get a new owner every day, making the previous owners lose them. Lmao Valve.
Couldn't care less about this game anymore
Wow, thanks for you post! I'm sure this thread will benefit from it.
I like that Valve are milking idiots, if it means they have money to make good games like Dota 2 then I'm for it. You don't HAVE to spend anything on TF2, so I don't see what the problem is.
Wow, thanks for you post! I'm sure this thread will benefit from it.
It contributed more than your post did.
"Come on guys! Hats are just cosmetic! TF2 is the same great game it always was, and will be!"
who cares the game's free so why does it bother people that they're making money with dumb shit like this if people are actually willing to shell out money for this crap, hats off to valve. like michael bay movies. i still enjoy playing
I don't give a shit about the hats since I'll never see them anyway, and I can only see good things coming out of this economically both for mapmakers, weapon-makers, hat-makers and Valve because everyone will earn money from it. Now the people who're dumb enough to actually put money into this, at least there's gonna be a whole lot more server-gifting going on, which means you'll have an increased chance of running into someone who's gifting a ton of items for the hat. Really, there's no major downside to these hats.
"Come on guys! Hats are just cosmetic! TF2 is the same great game it always was, and will be!"
what are you suggesting? that things like this have any impact on the game at all?
what are you suggesting? that things like this have any impact on the game at all?
gib hat plx TRADING x FOR X
Valve just given what the tf2 fanbase want, and they earn money. The hat folk are happy, Valves happy for coming with this great idea that works. Valves great
Hey, look on the bright side, those wearing silly hats get beaten up badly because they are easier to see.
Guys You forgot the part where you don't have to give a shit about hats, at all If you really care that much about the hats, then you need to find something better to do with your time
gib hat plx TRADING x FOR X
what are you whining about?
I don't play this game much anymore but I don't really see the problem? Atleast with the map stamp and gift ones. That means people who are nice are getting a neat little cosmetic item. Why is everyone upset?
Map Stamp Hat: 100% of the money goes to the map maker Duel Hat: Duels drop and are relatively cheap on the trading market Gift Hat: People on the server get free hats/weapons I really don't see what the fuss is about other then you only get the hat for a day.
Because Valve is getting money! That's truly horrible!
Valve is getting money too easily.. imo. It must have some effect on economy when a private company hauls so much cash from a lot of consumers. Then again there are many of these kinda private companies and other companies who get a lot of money and a lot of expenses (like Valve), and they get taxed, more or less, like everybody else, and thus the world keeps rotating around it's axis. Woopdi-fucking-doo.
Way more hours go into making a themed map perfect and balanced for team play than making a model. Still though, its nice that they get to make money from what is a hobby.
If you think that some maps contain about 50 custom models roughly 5x bigger than a hat, the fact they get less money is dumb.
