Hello, I am now ready to upgrade my motherboard and have a budget of £150 to do so. My computer specs are Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) II X2 245 Processor (2 CPUs), ~2.9GHz 4GB RAM Card name: AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series Manufacturer: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. Chip type: AMD Radeon Graphics Processor (0x6819) RAC type: Internal DAC(400MHz) 430W Power Supply (PSU) If I have missed anything let me know. Thanks in advance :)
Motherboard upgradation is the most challenging part. First of all don’t forget to take the backup of your data. Collect all the software registration keys. Uninstall all the applications running. Upgrade your drives and also check the storage settings. But as per my experience this is the toughest part. So it’s always better to go for expert guidelines. You may call up the customer care which will help you for further guidelines. Here is a customer care Telephone number 020 7403 4031. They may help you with proper guidelines.
I don't understand why I would need to do that. I have already upgraded my motherboard once, It was just a case of making sure it was compatible with the rest of my components and that was about it.
When you change a motherboard, it's really best to reinstall Windows. When you install Windows on a machine, it configures the HAL and drivers specifically for the machine in question. If you suddenly swap to a completely different board with different everything, Windows tries to reconfigure itself, but it's not going to work properly. You're going to be left with a trashed registry with two completely different definitions of hardware and tons of obsolete and useless drivers from the old system configuration. This not only wastes tons of disk space, it also can create nasty conflicts and bizarre problems. Also, I don't see the point of upgrading just the motherboard. You aren't going to gain anything because the CPU, RAM and GPU are going to be the same. You should save up more money so you can also get a new CPU and RAM because the CPU is crap and holding back the GPU.
