Would you read an online book? Be employed as an online author?

Imagine a website similar to most online webcomics. Each day or week it is updated with new content, but instead of this content being a new comic; it was a new page or several pages of a book. There may even be several books available at once, spanning a variety of genres. Some things it may include are:
- Free to view, with possible premium content for users who subscribe
- A variety of books, of different genres, updated frequently with new pages
- Interactive stories, where users suggest what is to happen next in the book
- User created content sections, where the best are picked to become permanent features on the site
- The ability to see your book printed and published if it is of exceptional quality, and a sum of money or cut of the profits deposited into your account with every sale
- The option to print out pages, or an entire book for a few pence/cents a page (making a book possibly 1/4 the price it would be in a shop)
- The option to order a physical copy of a book you have read online (for gift purposes to others)
- The ability to use all of these features from a hand held device such as an ipod, for reading in bed or while on the go
- The ability to become a paid author for the site, and work at home
Would you use a site like this if it were available? If not, why not? What would you change, or like to see added or done differently.
This is for an Entrepreneurship project i am currently working on, and would love some feedback on what fp thinks about this idea. Please point out any and every flaw or improvement you can possibly think of (even if you can't explain any further than "I think it is gay") but honesty would be greatly appreciated.
