Games get old, go offline, and we struggle to find the most efficient way to play them with other people. Some might say some of the older Battlefield titles, but for me I say Burnout 3 Takedown for Xbox Live. One of the best Net codes at the time along with Halo 2. There is no possible way to play this game with other people anymore. via 6 players, and I miss the shit out of it.
Age of Mythology
I think it's Alien Versus Predator 2 for me. The game was rad back then and the multiplayer was really fun. Time took it's toll though and the sequel was rather bad.
Shattered Horizon. It's a rather good game, though it could be argued that it never had a thriving community to begin with.
Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory I never had the chance to try Spies vs Mercs, but it sounds like it was really fun.
Day of Defeat
I have 3. Halo 3, because I loved it. A strategy game by the name of Empires: Dawn of the Modern World, although it's pretty old now being all the way back from 2003. The reason I want it back is because of the tools it gave to the community. The custom maps that were made were brilliant, some people even able to make a whole RPG out of the thing, or a whole different game. And last but not least, a western style mod by the name of Fistful of Frags.
The Ship - god I wish that community was still alive.
Neotokyo and Homefront
Need for speed hot pursuit. But i geuss rivals will have to do
Garry's Mod. The community is thriving, but not in a good way.
The Specialists, a mod for HL1. It had an awesome online community back in the day, then one day it was as if it suddenly died.
Super Monday Night Combat The game had quite a lot of promise, and once you got the hang of it, was really fun. The community slowly dwindled down as the skill gap between players kept going up and up. Leaving became a huge problem, and matchmaking times started getting longer and longer. The crossover with TF2 appeared to help, but in reality all it did was flood the game with a huge newbie playerbase that quit the instant they got their achievement items.
The Ship - god I wish that community was still alive.
Wait, The Ship's community is dead? I thought it was still alive.
Nuclear Dawn, it had some pretty cool ideas based on having a whole bunch of players and also miniguns
Battlefield: Bad Company 2... The only time you can EVER get a full lobby is on weeknights, and that angers me since I play it every chance I get and half of the time it takes an hour to actually FINISH a single match. :(
Zombie Master.
Firearms for HL1
Vanilla HL1 online. Just a few years ago the servers were thriving, now there's only a couple of good servers about.
Call of duty 2. No Australians servers - somethings wrong here.
Halo 1 and 2 rip
call of duty 4 red orchestra
call of duty 4 red orchestra
Red Orchestra 2 Soviet - German maps, not just the pacific ones everyone play. Only east-front servers active are always full of literal nazis with clantags like [88], [18] or [SS].
Staggy The Boyscout Slayer II Every kid on the block played this back in the day, those were good times
Motorstorm apocalypse. Only because literally every. Single. Unlockable vehicle, driver and paint job can only be obtained through online play.
star wars galaxies
Halo 3.
Section 8: Prejudice Battlefield 2142
Dystopia
I wish Natural Selection 2 was healthier. I also really liked Dino D Day despite how unbalanced it was. I can really only play it during free weekends now.
