Well, my friend wants a laptop for under $1000. He'll use it for mostly schoolwork, a lot of multitasking (probably not games), and possible video production in the future. Any recommendations?

Any specific Asus laptops you'd recommend? Are there any other cheaper websites to get them from?
ASUS N53SV/N73SV is one of the best laptops you can get. (Always runs cool and silent, great soundscape, good display, great performance for applications/games. The only downside is the weird spongy keys)
Take the i5 version if you want a good balance between battery life/performance though.
Newegg is out of stock. Any other good California dealers or cheap online stores?
amazon has no sales tax, selection is about the same as newegg
