The song might give you a headache due to a high pitched ringing in the background. If you're above 12 or whatever you might not hear it because your hearing isn't the same as when you were a kid. Either that or it's a placebo.

this is really old man, when I was 12 I spent hours testing myself, reading the stories, all that unit 731 crap. I listened to the song on loop through my headphones for hours on end to see if I went crazy. I developed a sick obsession with it, even now, I won't listen to the lavender town theme if I play red,blue or yellow

The added tune is not hard to hear at all, and I think it sounds nice. Doesn't give any headaches whatsoever though. Still a neat addition that isn't found in the original game.
