• Accidentally reformatted my whole SD card..

I was trying to put on a film for the tv, but it would only accept partions of 4GB due to it being set to that, I tried changing to 8GB. Next minute I find the folders have gone and the tv doesn't recognise it now. It's a Transcend SD card. Any way to get the folders back? Someone upload them for me?

does it even read properly in a PC? [editline]9th September 2011[/editline] did you resize the partition or delete the 4GB one? If you deleted it, your stuff is gone for good.
[QUOTE=Mr. Agree;32198988]Thanks for the help.[/QUOTE] You didn't actually ask a question until after I posted, you just told a story.
I guess your partition table is fucked, you should find enough help by searching for "partition recovery" on google.

Before trying to save anything from the card, do full bit-by-bit backup. If mess something up, you can always try to recover from image. Linux has it easiest, mount it read only and do dd. On windows use Runtime getdataback (imaging is integrated).
It's just the folders that made the SD card what it was. If anyone has a Transcend SD card and would be kind enough to please upload their folders? D: It would help a lot, please!
Surely a completely formatted FAT32 single partition SD card would be readable by the TV. Or, perhaps the TV can only accept a partition up to a certain size.

My TV would see it, but now the SD card is blank, no folders, etc, the TV just doesn't see it anymore in it's "media centre" feature. However, the PC sees it..
It's not the folders. You more than likely have it formatted to a file system that the TV doesn't like (NTFS). Format it again to FAT32, or FAT if FAT32 doesn't work. The TV will make the folders after it can actually mount the card and stuff.
Do you still have owners manual for that TV/ set-top-box, relevant information could a should be there? Maybe the tv has "some prepare storage card for use" function? From what you said, it seem that telly can only read partitions formatted with FAT16 and maybe FAT32 and it expect custom folder structure to be present. I don't know if I remember correctly, but folder structure, unlike data themselves, is not recoverable after formatting.
Check if after formatting the tv can rebuild the structure. My panasonic does that, though the video and picture software is horrendous. [editline]10th September 2011[/editline] I mean after formatting to fat 32
