Hello their, as many people have seen recently I have been attempting to build a Gaming and general use PC.
I am a big fan of Mac OSx, in fact I am on a MacBook Pro now and I love the OS! It has some of the best features and simplicity in it's own advanced way that I know of. But to have a gaming spec PC that will run OSX (AKA The Mac Pro) will cost a fortune, plus upgrading.
This thread may be in the wrong location (Sorry if it is!), and this may or may not be against the forum rules. If this thread does breach forum rules I will delete it immediately, but I am unsure of the legality of Hackintosh.
Basically my question is how does Hackintosh perform on a PC and is it legal, OSx is such a good OS and Hackintosh seems to be spreading it's power to people who can't afford it (Which in my opinion is a wonderful thing to do, it gives a chance for people to experience the better sides of OS). I would love to use it on my new PC when I finally get everything ready but I don't want to breach any laws.
Thanks!
~Joe
If you pay for the software, it's legal, there's nothing Apple can do to you for installing OSX on a non-apple PC.

Isn't special hardware needed to run the OS without any problems? That's what I've heard all the time.
Some hardware is ill supported, other hardware is properly supported. It's a bit of try and miss (there are dozens of references availible online, tough). Nowadays Macbooks and the likes contain the same hardware you may find in other laptops/notebooks.

Don't know if they changed it - but their policy states it's not allowed. People do it anyways - to be honest I don't really think they care, but again - they don't care so they don't support.
also minecraft.exe. You should try minecraft.app or minecraft.jar

If you're building a desktop computer, you can use www.kakewalk.se for a really simple hackintosh process. The only real hardware requirement is a specific motherboard (from a list) and an Intel processor
There are motherboards announced officially to support Mac OSX, so there is no point in hackintosh.
Although you might have to wait.

You can hackintosh with an AMD processor, it's just a bit more difficult. The AMD processor also has to support whatever processor instruction sets that OSX requires (SSE3, 4.x)

Ok thanks everyone, I will look into Hackintosh as OSx is a great OS for producing! I would have to do some kind of boot setup where I could choose between windows and OSx though :S
Killervalon, what do you meen about minecraft.exe?
