What I'm keeping is basically just the HDD's, ram and the processor. and these(http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815100049 and http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820162024&cm_re=3.5%22_multi_card_reader-_-20-162-024-_-Product) I have a Win7 install right now, would I need to re-do that to put all of the new parts in? Feel free to suggest other parts, but try to keep close to the total price. less would also be cool. ($500) If you had to go cheaper on anything, I guess it would be the video card. I guess you could totally cut the mobo, but my brandless HP mobo seems to cheap to go with the rest of everything. Also, I can't find a manual for it so I can't hook up the system speaker and I also don't have a reset switch. This is due to the weird proprietary connections/setups in the HP I started with. case ($44.99) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146059 + this for my memory card reader($4.99) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817994080 + these fans($14.99) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103052 +this controller for the fans($14.99) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811998808&Tpk=N82E16811998808 power supply (want it to be modular)($64.99) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371016 graphics card:($194.99) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127510&Tpk=msi%20n460gtx%20cyclone wifi adapter($19.99) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833704059&cm_re=tp-link_wireless_adapter-_-33-704-059-_-Product I also want 4 more gigs of DDR3(I have 4 already), but don't know how the specs on ram works. I don't know how to match the types (do they even need to be matched?) ~$50 Also, I need a motherboard. ~$100 I would guess at this, but don't know how to make sure everything is compatible. Here are some speccy screenshots of my current machine. (it's just a HP that I moved over to a slightly-better-than-stock-but-still-sucks case that I got as a gift.) Can you go up to $600? You can get Z68, 2500K, 6870, HAF 912 and GX650 (not modular, though) for $600.
I think it's probably $550 max.
550w restricts you to a single card if you want to do CF/SLI in the future. Are there specific types of CPU coolers for the different types of CPU's? Like would this cooler work with my processor? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103932 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103075
