Hey, I'm planning to buy a computer and video card. These seem pretty good to me. What do you think of them?
An HP Pavilion AMD Athlon II 645 Quad-Core Desktop Computer with a Zotac Geforce GTS 450 1GB DDR5 PCI-E Video Card

Not a very good deal, if building your own computer is an option, please do that - you will get more performance for your money. If not, use a good prebuilt company like CyberPowerPC (not sure if they ship to canada) or something local.
Well, I went to CyberPowerPC and built myself a top of the line computer

Hope you mean $2200, 22k is a lot of a computer, you should of gotten a car.
He didn't buy it.
huge thing
Are you unable to build a computer? If not, what is your total budget? I will try and find a good prebuilt for you.
Hope you mean $2200, 22k is a lot of a computer, you should of gotten a car.
I just wanted to see how much the most expensive everything was. it came out to $22065
Anyways can someone point out a good gaming computer for under $1000? I dont need a monitor with it
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229262 is pretty good; i'll continue looking - don't you buy it just yet.
Sweet, Well i dont get the money till like weds or thurs. i gotta go to the bank for the loan.
That's the best I can find for the money. Once again, I recommend you build instead, that PC could easily be built (better) for around $800-850, but if you can't then it's the best you're going to find under $1000 in Canada most likely.

Awesome, you've been a great help. I don't really want to go through the trouble of buying separate parts from different places to save a hundred bucks.

Or to get a computer that is better? Shadaez will happily go through the trouble of getting you the parts.
You can save $200 building a computer, or get a computer that is $200 better. It's worth it by a long shot.
So you'd rather save a few minutes over a couple hundred?
ok
sorry guys you're wrong:

Convenience, a 3 year warranty, and free tech support is worth $100 to some people.
Almost all of those parts have about a 3-year warranty, and it's just - if not more - convenient.
Nobody uses tech support anyways.

Less literate people, like the type of people that even considers buying a prebuilt?

Wow, most helpful place and person in all of Facepunch. Could you send me the links to buy that stuff so I can bookmark them until I make my loan.
Wow, most helpful place and person in all of Facepunch. Could you send me the links to buy that stuff so I can bookmark them until I make my loan.
now you want to build? I was simply matching the specs of the prebuilt to show everyone it's not that bad a deal. If the money saving is worth it to you, and you are comfortable building (it really is easy) I'd gladly put together something. Is your budget still $1000, after shipping, or do you just want the same specs for less?
I have no problem building the computer. I am not a genius but I am more skilled than the average person. If it isn't much trouble I'd like the links. I haven't made up my mind whether or not I'll get pre-built or not, I have about $700 and I'm getting a $1000 loan this week, so a little over $1000 because of shipping is no problem. But i don't want to go into the 1100s
Are you interested at all in overclocking?
Are you interested at all in overclocking?
I'm not entirely familiar of what that is.
My setup right now is a pentium 4 3.2 ghz processor with a geforce 8600gt video card and a 200gb hard drive. So that computer will be better in everyway. I'm not to interested in the minor details of it.
by the way, whats an example of what that computer could run? like how well would it run Skyrim?
I'll take that as a no; just trying to save you money and get you a better PC for the money.
Do you need Windows to install on it?
And keyboard / mouse?

-snip-
i have a cheap keyboard and mouse (like $10) I think they work fine but if you recommend getting new ones, I can splurge a little more.

Thank you very much
cost $1042.40 to ship to me.
[editline]11th September 2011[/editline]
So its about $50 cheaper to build my own
it's also far more powerful now that you don't need an OS, a 570 is much more powerful than the 560 provided in the prebuild.

Bro, trust me. Seriously. When it comes to a gaming PC, if that's what you are using it for, gaming, you do not want to go pre built. We aren't being biased, but I would never suggest to anyone, ever, a pre built system if it's for gaming. Your options, customization, and budget are so much more flexible with building. I know building seems like kind of a hassle, but it really wont take you more than an hour (two hours if your a spaz about cable management, and it's a nice skill to have.
On a different note, if it's in your budget I would suggest SLI/Crossfire. I have two 460s in SLI, and it almost triples my performance as opposed to a single card. That's just my opinion though.
Well how well can that PC run games?
The one Shadaez recommended?
Well how well can that PC run games?

i5 2500K at 3.3, GTX 570, and 8 Gigs of RAM? Pretty fucking well.
Also, with cases as long as it's a "Mid-Tower ATX" it'll work, so as far as that goes go ahead and find one you like.
[editline]12th September 2011[/editline]
Also I'd recommend bottom mounted PSU, for the case.
