Hey, I'm thinking of upgrading my 660TI this christmas so I can finally max out a bunch of games including Dragon Age Inquisition and Alien Isolation, Far Cry 4 etc.
This is my current specs:
Windows 7 64bit
AMD-FX 8350 Eight Core Processor 4.0GHZ
8GB RAM
Nvidia 660Ti 4048MB
Just how good is a 980? I've heard it's pretty much top of the range right now. But if anyone could fill me in weather this is a good choice to make, then it'd be appreciated
Thanks in advance

I'm in the same situation as you but I'm waiting until the next year for the GTX 990 to come out
970, better punch for price
Agreed. There are few reasons a 980 is ready worth the price. The main ones are if you're pushing 4k as previously mentioned or you're getting a crazy non-reference model for aftermarket cooling.
Okay so if I went for a 970, how are my other specs looking? will I be able to run Dragon Age Inquisition on Ultra settings?
you should be fine at ultra from reading benchmarks.
but, take it with a grain of salt.
Keep in mind I use Oculus Rift etc
It is decided, 970 GTX and a 3TB hard drive.. Sorted :)
Thanks guys!
That would be my option right now if I was upgrading my 670, but it still does the job for me and the little time I have is spent on my PS4 at the moment. Oculus Rift is the only thing pushing me to upgrade next year though, so time to get saving.
-snip- late
