Mobile Internet Usage on a Samsung Galaxy S II? How much?

Hey Facepunch.
I'm due a new phone and I've ran round all the phone shops, bleeding them dry for good deals!
I've been offered the phone mentioned above for £22.50 a month, for 18 months (£150 for the phone - £25 'good will gesture' - £25 trade in of any phone = £100 for the phone).
The contract is the continuation of my old contract, that is limited to 250MB of data. Which has always been 10x more than I use on my Samsung Tocco Ultra (S8300). But will that be enough for the Galaxy S II? If I use wifi at home? I'm a fairly regular user of checking up on facebook every 2 hours or so? And uploading the occasional picture.
On a side note. Has anyone heard anything about software issues, crashes etc on the LG Optimus 3D?
I trust this is in the right section (I rarely venture out of Automotive Addicts). Cheers!
250Mb ain't gonna last long.
I'm on 1GB a month with 3 and I've used 400Mb 10 days in to the month.

I regularly read facepunch / engadget on my phone, however.
Under 250MB every month with my phone.
Browsing FP at school, being in MSN and sometimes a YT video.

But what is your phone?
I have 150mb a month and I do fine. Use Opera Mini to virtually double your breathing space. Use 3g watchdog to monitor your data usage. If you use it for browsing only and occasional reference you'll be alright.

And for future questions, please use the google subforum. Those guys know their shit.
250mb of data a month? With who? That's crazily low. You should be getting at least 500mb. Negotiate!

Its an older contract. Back in the days before Android. I've already negotiated a super deal. The entire contract and phone over the 18 months will cost £550. The phone itself is £500 on its own. Works out at £4.16 a month for my 200 mins, unlimited texts and 250MB. I'm gonna struggle!
250MB is pushing it, but 500MB a month has been fine for me with daily web browsing using mostly desktop versions of sites and the occasional video. I use a Galaxy S if it matters
Oh? Thank you very much!
... Just get unlimited? Unless that's not an option in the UK?
I pay 7,90€ for unlimited, it's nicer to just not have to worry about data usage.
But it'd go over my personal limit of £26 a month :( I'm trying to keep it cheap.
I pay £25.50 a month for a HTC Desire HD with unlimited texts and 1GB of data, Free Openzone/Cloud Hotspots and free MMS messages. And a free upgrade to a similar level phone every 18 months. - I got this from carphone warehouse online.
Point being, assess if you really need the latest and greatest device as it can save you loads - it's going to be outdated halfway into your contract anyway.
250MB is very restrictive.
I manage with 150mb a month only cause im on wifi 90% of where I go. My house and all the buildings at my university have wifi which is always faster than at&t. The only time I go for data is probably commute on the lightrail or the bus or at a resturant which sometimes then has wifi.

Yeahh, I know. But I do insist on having the latest and greatest, knowing full well it'll become outdated, haha. Just by paying more upfront. I'm planning on going to University in September and need to keep my financial commitments low.
8.5gb this month on my iPhone 3gs.
I've started using it as my main internet connection cheaper then cable.
I went pretty close to going over my 500 MB plan on my Nexus S. I installed My Data Manager to keep track of my usage.
Just keep an eye on your usage and only enable mobile data when you need it.

Oh thats great!! I've owned nor used an Android device before so I wouldn't ever thought of that app! Cheers!
I'm at 190MB in 8 days on my billing cycle.
Of course I use Pandora and youtube regularly and don't give a fuck with my unlimited plan.
Verizon (Old Unlimited Plan), Droid X
With the default Android on my HTC Sensation, 2 of my emails and facebook constantly refreshing, I used around 180MB of data by my phone idling in my pocket.
Of cors, sometimes an app needed an update or I downloaded a new one, but you get the idea of about how much you'll be using.
I'll say take it easy the first month and you'll be able to handle it. Just install the 3G Dog app that monitors your usage.
I've used 8.2GB out of my 10GB on my SGS II. I do a ton of HD streaming, everything refreshes/syncs as fast as it can(usually every 30min) and I update my rom quite frequently. My usage always resets on the 21st.
Data usage really depends on what you plan to do and how often you're near open wifi.
I have a 5gb plan for 30 USD per month. I use maybe 3.5gb per month. I stream music, videos, even photo sharing. But I might drop it down to 2gb per month.
I'm on an HTC Sensation.
I have a droid x2 and am on a 2gb plan, I just hit 1.9gb and I have ten days left. I use netflix, youtube, pandora, etc.
Thanks guys. These are all proving quite helpful! :)

Hell ya mobile is sweet for "free" net. Used 48gb last month on Verizon.
And OP you'll be fine on that plan as long as you stay clear of youtube and excessive internet browsing.

Oh right? Cheers!
I have 750MB a month, and I usually use it within a week.
on a contract like that you should be able to get "unlimited" data (which isnt really unlimited but whatever)
Seems only T-Mobile are offering. A friend of mine is on T-Mobile, he says its an awful network.

T-mobile is probably the worst in my opinion.
