Getting an iPod Touch soon, do I have to reinstall iTunes?

My old iPod broke down this summer and now I'm getting an iPod Touch. On my old iPod, I used Winamp to transfer music and videos, but I'm guessing that the iPod Touch will do things differently. I'm probably gonna put a couple of apps on it.
Will I need to reinstall iTunes, or can I keep using Winamp?
Some people said that Winamp works with iPod touch and iPhone. If not, there are always iTunes alternatives if you want to ignore that pile of rubbish. Try your hand at CopyTrans if Winamp doesn't work.
Yes, but will I need iTunes for apps?

You can download and install apps from the iDevice without iTunes. I never use iTunes for getting apps, ever.
Use iTunes. All the features built it and it's not so shitty if you have OS X.
I use iTunes, to do most everything. It makes my life easier. Never used WinAmp tho so it may be just as easy or better. I've used SharePod, and it works pretty nicely.
lmp_ipod I'm guessing.
I saw that during my time when I considered getting an iPod Touch.
So to answer your question, I don't know.
It would be better to get itunes. That way you won't have to rebuy all your apps if you suddenly need to restore your ipod.

Since when do you have to "rebuy" apps that were already owned?
You can just go to the AppStore, and click on "Buy" on something you've already purchased, and it will tell you that the download is free because you've already purchased it. No such thing as rebuying apps, bub. Movies and music, yes, but not apps.

Really?
Christ Apple, don't make the store say 'buy' again when it's just a redownload!
I've gotten pretty confused and accidentally downloaded apps that I originally didn't buy on iTunes. Charged my credit card $.99 each mistake I made :saddowns:

There is a huge condition here that few people meet (relatively speaking)

Agreed.
I think it's fucking stupid that there isn't a section in the AppStore that gives a list of all the apps you've purchased. It's necessary. Now you have to guess whether you purchased it before or not.
