8GB?
Couldn't they start from 16gb? 8gb just sucks, apple even had models for iPods and iPhones starting at 8gb but you can easily consume that up within a month depending on what you're doing
just hope they allow expandable memory
They're solid state drives.
I don't know the exact specifications but that's pretty expensive with hardware that's already inferior to current gen.

That's not the US price. Also, it's got better hardware than both the 360 and PS3.

Which is still not very impressive considering the 360 and ps3 were released 7 years ago.

It feels like nintendo has just completely lost any kind of sense when it comes to making decent choices. The hardware they use is always way too old and they focus on gimmicks so much the rest can almost be considered archaic considering what other consoles or even the PC can do in comparison.
To be fair, the price will probably drop by the time that the PS4 and Xbox 720/whatever it'll be called come out, and like the Wii, they're aiming to be the cheaper alternative.
Whoa! 75w of power? didn't the ps3/xbox use 250?

Again, "other consoles" are the 360 and PS3, both of which are in it for the long haul with motion controllers and both of which have seven year old hardware.
Yeah sure 8gb sounds low but Nintendo games or any other games on the Nintendo consoles barley use any data at all.
Nintendo just lives in their own little world, don't they? Next-gen or not, for that much money I'd expect at least 40GB at the absolute, bare-bones minimum. It's really indicative of their plans for the future, which doesn't seem to include a lot of digital distribution.

You can expand the memory with a external hard drive on the Wii U. Plus they've already started doing digital distribution like the vita with the 3DS and New Super Mario Brothers 2.

Yay, I can download about six games before running out of memory dedicated to my save games, profiles, and misc media stuff.

And then you attach an external hard drive. Problem solved.

Alright, ya got me there.
Fucking automergery.

If you really believe that it's worse than current gen, then you have no idea how hardware works. Hell, it's hard to make hardware worse than current gen.
