A couple of days ago i bought a thinkpad edge from lenovo, and all ive installed is firefox and nod 32, but for some reason its running 80 processes, which is even more than my desktop computer which has 400gb of data on it. Why is this? Thinkpads dont strike me as bloated laptops.
All laptops have at least some bloatware on them. Someone posted a program to remove all the bullshit manufacturers put automatically somewhere in H&S but I don't remember its name :frown:
PC Decrapifier? Either way, you can remove a lot of it on your own. Just go through Uninstall program list, and find any program you don't want, like Norton or AVG, or shitgames.com or whatever Lenovo installs for their crapware.

OP, did you just change your avatar or I'm the copy-cat here? :v: [editline]18th March 2011[/editline] I just made mine so I guess it's a coincidence...
When I got a new (HP) laptop, I just reformatted with a normal Windows 7 image, didn't even bother trying to remove the bloat.

My original boot of Windows Vista on my current laptop took 5 minutes after setup and a restart. Reinstalled Vista, 1 minute boot time.
