• Question about RAM.

For my new build this christmas I bought an Intel Core i5 2500K (suprise suprise), 16GB Corsair Vengeance and since the money was running short, a mid end 1155 board: ASRock P67 Pro. I'm just wondering, on my current build which has a M4A77T, I'm not able to put all my RAM in. I've got no idea as to why but it will only go in the black slots and not the blue slots. Every time I try to put the RAM in the blue slots, it doesn't feel like it fits all the way and the system won't boot. Any idea as to why this happens and if this will happen on my new build, cause I bought 16GB it would be a shame if I only use 8GB. Thanks for reading and hopefully assisting!
When you push it into the slots do the sides click onto the ram?
For the blue, only one side clicks.
Make sure you're pushing in evenly. Try and apply the same amount of force on each side, but not too much.
Also make sure that you have the ram sticks going in the right way.
and hopefully you got ram that is supported by your motherboard... doh!

Thanks guys for your replies, my new motherboard arrived and all RAM worked in it. I think the slots on the old one were a bit dodgy.
Just curious, what do you need 16gb of memory for? (Understandable if you rendering or shit)
Just curious, what do you need 16gb of memory for? (Understandable if you rendering or shit)
I do a lot of video rendering with Vegas and After Effects and sometimes have a few virtual machines running simultaneously while testing code on several platforms.
