At this point, i just wish they made devblog every 1 month.
Last time they placed it biweekly, the amount of work done still felt like the quantity of 1 week. It didn't go well. I do admit, game's been quiet as of late.
What i meant is, it's like Vlog : You can't really do a Vlog every single day because there WILL be day where you don't do shit and you just chill in your house, it would be dumb to make a Vlog just to make a Vlog. Well it's exactly like that. Sometimes you got bugfix only, and sometimes you got those big meaty devblog full of sound concept/concept art/3d model/Cool screenshot.
But if they don't do a blog one week because nothing worked on during the week is finished or sexy enough to show, the Rust forum over on labpunch will light the fuck up with "is Rust canceled?" threads. They skipped a patch one week because they simply didn't have a stable release candidate on the staging branch and the Rust subforum exploded with dumb threads both by jumpy people expecting doom and angry people unsatisfied with having to wait another week for any fresh changes to their alpha game. It's a thankless job, but sometimes just going through the motions, even if it's not very exciting, makes things run a lot smoother than what would be the time-efficient mature adult thing to do. One of the inherent risks of a fanbase for a survival fps these days.
