• Installing CCC on Win7

I've been at this for the last 2 days and I need help. I can't install CCC. I go through the install process until it gives me the option to Install or Uninstall. I click Install and nothing happens. At all. Ever. I've rebooted, gone into safe mode, tried older versions etc. Nothing I do is working. Anyone have any ideas? The only solution I've found is to "Reformat, but not reinstall Windows". By that statement alone I know the guy who said that is dumb as it is and I'm not willing to format the few week old install.
What is CCC?

What processes run when you install? When I installed older driver versions the installation would freeze at a certain point and would only continue after I killed one of the processes.
InstallManagerApp.exe. When I hit install it terminates itself after about 10 seconds.
try Unpacking it with 7zip/winrar and run the contained installers manually, i had to do this when some things had problems installing on win server 2008 r2.

Hmm, not the same problem I had. Have you tried the separate CCC download, without the bundled drivers?

According to these guys it may be a problem the installer has with Visual C++ 2005.

Um. Well you could try this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/961894
Um. Well you could try this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/961894
Seems to me WinSXS isn't doing its job... Thanks Roast, that worked. POS software requiring me to install VC++2005 Redis and a hotfix just to run an installer. Fuck ATI's proprietary installer.

It's strange though, I've installed CCC several times on a new Windows 7 install and it never gave me trouble. Oh well, :iiam: [editline]05:45PM[/editline] But yeah they should make their installer more more reliable.
Dunno, I've never had issues installing it. And I'm still on the RTM.
Well this is the first time this has happened. Regardless you shouldn't need prerequisites for an installer.
Hate to bump a thread which the problem is solved, but out of curiosity, why do you want the control center instead of just the drivers? Unless they've heavily overhauled it since I last used it, it's seemed like a bloated piece of crap.

I gotta say, I love my ATI card, but these drivers are awful. Terrible layout.
Just throwing this out there. Do you have .net framework?
