I guess kids can't really find too much appeal in it without being able to slaughter your sims at the drop of a hat or some other offline stuff.
Though you could in Betaville, played like a real multiplayer TS1.

Meh, EA + F2P MMO = Extortionate. Would be cheaper to just buy/subscribe. If TOR is anything to go by, the majority of what you want to play in the game is behind paywalls. The majority of quality of life mechanics are locked behind paywalls.
TOR is good enough to be worth a subscription for the month or two you would play it now, but if you don't subscribe you're looking at over a hundred dollars to unlock the stuff you'd want that you get by subbing.
It's mislabeled. And to those who are going to say Maxis =/= EA. You're wrong.
