The new shader is maxed out in the last one and is about 50% in the middle picture, or so it feels.

Looking at the source, they state this:
Left: no subsurface scattering, Middle: realistic settings, Right: exaggerated settings

Really solid changes, I was planning on just subbing for $20 then cancelling and using that version but honestly it keeps improving with each update and I'm not wanting to unsub now

Tried a few ue4 demos and I love how it looks, a bit too flashy with bloom.

fuck sss they're implementing (or upgrading the current unique uv generator?) a lightmap uv generator
i long for the day i don't have to spend extra time creating lightmap uv's by hand

Looks like someone took a screenshot of it, copied and pasted it to a second layer, guassian blurred layer one and adjusted the opacity of layer 2 to 50%

That's kinda how blending works.
I'm way more impressed with this update's dynamic ray traced shadows which get more blurry the more they are away from the light source:
