• LCD Monitor was cleaned with wood polish

Fuck. My older sister thought it was a nice idea to clean my £300 LCD glossy monitor with this stuff without my knowledge and consent. I've tried rubbing the screen with a microfibre cloth but the visible substance just smears like grease. Thankfully I can't seem to find any visible scratches yet. I've just ordered some actual cleaning material designed for actually cleaning LCD monitors so it should come in very soon. Will I experience any long term damage that might not be currently visible now? What else do you think I should do?
Unless it went into your components, it's only the glass (or plastic :v:) that is harmed.

My biggest concern is some staining and discolouration occurring. [editline]8th May 2013[/editline] Need to update. Apparently there was a slight misunderstanding. Although she didn't spray the polish directly into the cloth and clean with it directly, the cloth still had some residue of the polish when it was used a while beforehand. I just learnt that she did this all a couple of weeks ago while I was away and so far right now I haven't seen any noticeable side effects. I'll wait until I can properly clean this and see what happens.
You're probably going to be fine. But your sister is an idiot.
Wood polish is basically really light oil. You can use diluted isopropyl alcohol to get it off with a soft wash cloth.

Feel like an idiot now that I finally stepped back and looked at the situation. Thanks.
