I already have a wishlist, I'm just asking you guys to verify that I have the best parts available, and that everything is compatible.
E: $2000 build now.
laptop memory, x6, garbage PSU, and you can go for a better motherboard/case/everything else
What's wrong with the X6 and the PSU?
Holy hell why do ssd's cost that much.
nevermind i'm illiterate

X6s are not a good option unless you're only going to be rendering or whatever, and even then a 2500k will probably do the job better
and diablotek is pure shit http://www.hardocp.com/article/2010/12/17/diablotek_phd650_650w_power_supply_review/9
I swapped out the PSU, but is the X6 overkill or something? Too weak?

It's price to performance ratio for gaming sucks. Swap it out with a 2500k and a P67 motherboard.
Why is the SSD so expensive?
If Windows 7 Pro is really necessary:

Otherwise:

I changed the SSD and went with the 2500k/p67, hows it look now?
Does he need Win7 Professional? Because Home Premium is fine usually.
Unless your friend is going to be moving large files around constantly, that SSD seems like a massive waist of money.
