OK First off, my CPU is being sucked by System.exe it is running at 60-100% CPU ALL THE TIME! I looked up the problem on Google to find many useless websites with suggestions that did not work. Like replacing the cmos battery, didn't work. Unplug all usb devices, didn't work. Solved Secondly this happend after i was trying to overclock my computer, i was trying to get my cpu to 2.8GHZ from 2.4GHZ people claimed they were able to get to a stable 3.0GHZ with little to none temp increase. So when i tried to change the CPU Bus speed from 200 to 234 x 12 multiplier = 2808mhz upon entering windows CPU-Z said it was still at 200MHZ Bus and 2.4GHZ. Yet the bios says otherwise. Problem My main concern is the system.exe problem at the moment which was not caused by the bios i set everything to default and it is still happening :( please any help would be great! Build: CPU: AMD Phenom X3 8750 2.4GHZ CPU Memory: 4GB Patriot Viper 1066MHZ DDR2 HD: 3 Seagate Barracuda 500GB 7200RPM 32mb Cache Motherboard: Zotac nForce 750a Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
Have you ran a virus scan yet? Try to use Malwarebytes in safe mode preferably.
Doing that now, malwarebytes is 10 mins in 80k files with 0 results so far. [editline]26th January 2011[/editline] Malware finished with no results, however when i turned avast off the "system" went from 100 to 40 so im uninstalling that now hopefully it will drop down to 0 like it usually was, maybe avast got corrupted or something... Anyone have any idea on my second problem?
You can try resetting the BIOS to default settings, maybe you fucked up while overclocking.
You can try resetting the BIOS to default settings, maybe you fucked up while overclocking.
That was the first thing i did... The only thing you can edit in this crappy bios is the bus speed, no multiplier, voltage, nothing just bus speed. Update: Reinstall of Avast fixed the system problem, i do not know how Avast can effect the System process but it did, and it wasn't even scanning...
Still have not fixed the problem, i cannot see what i am doing wrong. Maybe there is something preventing my bus from changing? Any ideas?
Give a screen shot of the processes with the most consuming one at the top.
Give a screen shot of the processes with the most consuming one at the top.
The System process problem was fixed it was avast, after reinstalling my CPU is at 0% all the time it sometimes goes to 1%. My problem now is the cpu bus.
AMD cool 'n quiet enabled?
AMD cool 'n quiet enabled?
No it's disabled.
The computer is likely to failing to boot at that speed and is instead defaulting to the default value (200mhz). What is likely at fault in this is the RAM, and I'm especially guessing this because you didn't mention anything about it. You can find a better ratio or unlink them. Overclocking RAM a large amount isn't going to work out well without fine tuning the timings. There is also a chance that you got a CPU that is rather terrible for overclocking. As a little test, unlink them and raise the FSB up a little bit and see if you can see a change.
As for unlinking i believe your talking about Ganged and Unganged, Ganged is unlinked and that's what they are set at. Patriot told me the "max" timings my memory can go is 3-2-3-8 and right now they are 4-4-4-10 default is 5-5-5-15 this brought them from 1066 to 1800. The CPU Bus will not work no matter what bus it is, 201/202/203/210/220/nothing works, plus this processor is a black edition amd cpu, i already called AMD and they said this cpu is completely unclocked, even the newegg description claimed it was unlocked as well. I did research on the net before posting on here and there are several people who overclocked it way beyond what i want to get just on air cooling, my friend Brian has a quad core amd black edition and he overclocked his to 4.2 on water cooling which is the same ghz and cache and fsb as mine.
Found the problem. You didn't do enough research on your motherboard. According the reviews it is absolutely terrible for overclocking because the CPU and RAM can't be unlinked and it has a problem supplying power. I was wondering why you were saying CPU bus. Also, I don't know why you'd think I was talking about ganged or unganged. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=13-500-013 Some reviews complain about the board not working too well with 1066mhz memory which leads me to believe that things become unstable past the 1066 mark which is why it keeps defaulting back to 200mhz.

Yet its not doing it at all >_>
Man your web development forum is awesome i got my problem fixed within an hour... This forum is just dead...
I take that as an insult.
I take that as an insult.
Well it's the truth, i posted this well over 30 hours ago.
