So, I build a new PC a few weeks ago and up to now, everything has been running great. But yesterday, all of my games started running at a lower fps and having frequent large drops.
For example, Left 4 Dead 2 would run at a solid 60fps, now it plays around 50fps with frequent drops to 30fps. Even less demanding games such as Serious Sam HD are having trouble keeping a steady 60.
My temps seem to be fine, 40-50c idling, 49-56c load. Fan speed is at 80%
I updated my drivers just yesterday, though I see no reason why the newest drivers would make things worse.
Here's a screen of my GPU clocks in the CCC:

Any ideas on what I could do to fix this sudden blow to my performance?
go back to old drivers

Just rolled back to my previous ones, I'll test some games and report back shortly.
I believe the 9.12 catalyst drivers had issues like this, many people have been saying the same. The hotfix doesn't fix that bug, it just resolves some eyefinity (multi-display) issues. Wait for a full fix if you ask me.
Everything seems to be in order. Surprising that drivers from back in August are more stable than the most recent ones. :v:
As a side note, since my GPU stays under 55c under full load, how much would I be able to overclock it while still keeping it below around 70c?

my 5870 could overclock to the max temperature-wise but it doesn't get enough voltage and crashes :crying:
