My Dell E173P Monitor has died on my. I have tried tightening the connection but it isn't that. I have also attempted streaming my laptop through it which hasn't worked either. It isn't the computer. The power light still acts normally, when the power is on but there is no feed it is orange like normal, when there is a feed and power it is green yet it doesn't display anything. When I turn it on and off it will flash what is being streamed to it for a fraction of a second then go black again. Does anyone have any idea on the problem?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems quite likely that you have a busted capacitor on your backlight inverter board. If I'm not mistaken, the Dell monitors (manufactured by BenQ?) usually have the inverter board integrated into the power supply board. How technically proficient are you? This will not be an easy fix [editline]09:37PM[/editline] If you get up REALLY REALLY close and look at it, can you make out an EXTREMELY vague view of the proper image? [editline]09:37PM[/editline] Or is it COMPLETELY black
Technically skilled? I would have to say moderately. If I have instructions I could do it, though it would take a while. And no, it is totally black. Again, I will turn it on, it flashes a washed out image for maybe 3/10ths of a second then is gone again and totally black.
