Hey facepunch, my birthday is on September 1 and I'm turning 17. My Dad's budget is just around 100 dollars, so I can't ask for much.
I really don't know what to ask for, since I'm so close minded or something like that, so I'm asking you guys what I should get for my birthday.
ask for his 100 dollars
if your dad actually gives a shit about you, hang out with him.
I thought the point of presents was to surprise people, not buy what they ask?

love
Ask for a $100 prepaid visa debit card. I love getting those.
But honestly, you should spend time with your dad.
Guys, I hang out with my dad like, every other day, so that's not really an issue.
Why are you saying $100 isn't a lot.
I get like a $50 present sometimes.
But just ask for the money or a prepaid visa card or somethin.
The thing is, I don't really know what to buy, my mind is at a blank, and it has been for over a week.
You could buy tons of things for 100 dollars.
Like a 100 goldfish. Drive around on your birthday and throw them at people walking down the street.
Or 100 McDonald's Dollar Menu cheeseburgers. How will a person react when a hamburger comes flying at them from a moving vehicle.
Film it, it'll be hilarious.
go to the movies with your dad- You don't know how long he'll still be around so you best make the most of your time with him, and you could go check out a shop or two on the way home. You don't need to spend the whole 100 dollars, you could keep some left over and save up for a future game or something.

That was kind of funny, but be serious. My Dad is asking me if I want something that would last a very long time, so video games and things like that are somewhat out of the question

This, this, and this. I thought I would be in a big happy family forever until my mom suddenly decided she was tired of my dad.

He's only 41, I'm expecting him to live at least 30 more years from now.

My parents are divorced.
:saddowns:
Porn, lots of it.
Just kidding I'd just do something you both could do. (Dinner, movie, ect.)

A watch?
I got a nice 60 dollar watch for my 12th birthday from my grandpa. I still have it.
Or get like a gangsta necklace or something. Or a tattoo.

Anything can happen. And the divorce is another good reason to go with your dad- if you spend most of your time playing games, at school, or with your mates, he's gonna be alone most of the time when he's home, and when he's at work, he's at work for you.
It'll really lighten up both of your lives.
And, If it's something that will last a long time, make it something you two can do together.

This is what my Dad was talking about, but I go swimming alot; I would probably need a waterproof one, which sounds expensive.

I can't ask presents from anyone other than my Dad right now, considering that my Grandma has Alzheimers and I can't ask for anything from her; she'll just forget about it the next day. It's sad but, she's the one with all the money. She's so paranoid that my Dad is taking her money from behind her back, and she hides a lot of the food in the house away from me and my 2 brothers. She thinks we eat everything in sight so shes insecure.
Also, to clear things up, I will never be closer to anyone but my Dad, there is no separation between us. I also go to work with him at the clam farm.

Ask for 100 dollars worth of his time, then whatever amount he says tell him that you're going camping.
