Is this news because he's one of the first? Because the title "teenager" implies it's because of his age, while article hints it's because he's one of the first.
Am I missing something?
My driving test examiner was in his early 20s and we had a long conversation about raspberry pi's and PC gaming :v:
Really glad I got him instead of the other, much older and stricter examiners.

We have like 20 minutes of driving through streets and roundabouts while being told where to go, then an independent portion where you have to follow signs, and at least 1 reverse manoeuvre has to be completed.

Some of it varies state to state. We've got that plus maneuverability course, mine was on the top of a slight hill, which complicated things.
In Australia(QLD), at the minimum you have to reverse in a straight line, reverse park, parallel park, preform 2/5 "special maneuvers" eg, 3 point turn or U turn at a T intersection and not run people over.
Before that you have to do 100 hours and 1 year of learners.
I personally hate GPS, I find I get lost more while using them. But I'm a weirdo. My mate on the other hand can't get anywhere with out one, even if hes been there 100 times.
Slow news day, huh?

How the hell do Ausies get their licenses?

Slowly. And IIRC they're planning on raising it to 200 hours. (heheh my twin siblings will have fun with THAT)
Fins have the best driving schools.

That's exactly twice of the US. We've got 50 hours and 6 months of learners. Plus a class. (Unless you're 18 or older, then you just have to pass the driving and written test)
