Okay, So when I go to plug in my mic (its a headset) into a direct plugin in my sound, I get that error. I tried using my USB Ps3 Headset too and I get the same exact thing. I even tested my USB Webcam and got it. I am clueless on how to solve it. Its been like this ever since I got my PC repaired last summer. Does someone know how to fix it?
Do you have USB 2.0 ports?

I don't know, How do I check?
I don't know, How do I check?
well I believe you do have
you can check it out by check out the specs of your motherboard. Give us the brand + model of your motherboard and we'll do it for you.
you can find your motherboard by going to dxdiag
you can into dxdiag by clicking start
typing in dxdiag

and press enter or click on that dxdiag.
then it SHOULD (not always, usually if it's a prebuilt, it doesn't show up) show your motherboard. It'd be something like

otherwise you can download speccy and screenshot it and post here
Motherboard : ASUSTeK Computer INC. M2N-E SLI (Socket AM2 )
all ports are usb 2.0, so no worries about that
So...Do you have any idea to the problem?
If all your ports are already USB 2.0, then it might be a virus trying to fuck with you. The only problems I've found with this error were about using a USB 2.0 device with a USB 1.1 port.
I have this problem too, but with my webcam :saddowns:

It can't be a virus because it happened right when my ENTIRE PC was cleaned from a virus infection (One of my moms friends who do lots and lots of computers fixed it)
Go into BIOS, Look for something regarding your USB ports... Should say something like Hi Speed or True Speed
Make sure it's on Hi speed

Mine is under
>Advanced
>Usb 2.0 Controller mode >Hi Speed

I don't get that, I looked and it had everything enabled thougj, I didn't see HI SPEED anything for an option.

It's really rare that a removal of a virus is 100% complete. There will almost always be fucked up windows files.
Are you sure? I'm pretty sure every motherboard has that option somewhere, I think it's for compatability with older USB's or something.
I have 2.0 and 1.1 compatiblity all enabled

Bump- I really need help
Heres how to fix it, go get another USB port extension card, and put it in your computer. I fixed it that way with mine and it worked fine
Do you have a USB modem or something that draws a lot of bandwidth?
I don't use a USB modem, Its hooked via ethernet.

I searched Google and did a little investigating a while back, it worked fine because before when I plugged in my crappy Digital Camera as a webcam, the sound would stop working and it would say USB Bandwidth exceeded, I put in another USB card and it worked fine
Oh, Do you remember the site you got it from?
