Computer finally decided to kick the bucket - Hardware & Software

My computer just recently died, and I think it's time for a new one. What I need are some links on a gaming computer. Preferably cheap, but can still run games decently. (also need hardware links like video cards and such.) the computer o had came with a bundle (two laptops/one desktop). It wAs bound to crash someday. And since Im on an iPod I can exactly look up things easily. Thanks. Also boxes probably incoming ): Edit Wrong section. Could someone move this?

So what happened that actually made it "crash?" A lot of the times it's just one part that needs replacing.

Prebuilts are generally crap, you should build your own, it doesn't take long at all. Get a budget, and any brand preferences together, and we can help you. (i would suggest a budget of 600$ though if you don't have that much you can go as low as 400$ by sacrificing some power and hard drive space)

Are there any specifics I should know? I'm wanting a bit more bang for my buck. Anything you recommend at all? Links would be nice

Tell us how much money you are willing to spend and we will help you find the right parts.

Do you want a new Monitor, peripherals or anything like that? Also, will you want an operating system with the computer? Because you're in the US I can't suggest much, but this info might help someone else find a computer for you.
