I can't get a good opinion from the thread that's basically an ad for Comodo Internet Security 4. I know it's free and I'm thinking of putting it on my new laptop that I'll get at the end of the month. Thread in question: http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=948262 EDITED: Don't give HURR USE COMMON SENSE DURR answers; I know that using your noggin whilst browsing the internet is the first line of defense. Reply in this manner, and I'll report you because you didn't read this post.
No not as good as other thread says, but still very decent.
yes. it's pretty awesome. don't use it alone though, use it in conjunction with another, such as avg [editline]08:20PM[/editline] actually, use threatfire instead. threatfire is much better than comodo
It's good but that guy is paranoid anyway.

Also I'll be the first to say it. Common Fucking Sense
Comodo 5 Beta is awesome whereas Comodo 4 is terrible. Well at least going by the amount of notification spam and the UI style.
Also I'll be the first to say it. Common Fucking Sense
That is NOT the answer I wanted. I'm not a complete idiot.
Common Sense post

That is NOT the answer I wanted. I'm not a complete idiot.
I am WELL AWARE that 99% of avoiding viruses is common sense. The other 1% is the antivirus. If I get any more replies similar to "use common sense," I'll have to start reporting. So STOP IT please.
Aren't you not supposed to have 2 virus scanners on the same computer?
two of the same kind, no. but a traditional antivirus plus a intrusion prevention system like comodo or threatfire is pretty much impossible to get through. throw on a firewall and you've created an unstoppable force.

I looked at Comodo's website and the HIPS module is actually part of the firewall and NOT the antivirus. I didn't think that Comodo's only way of finding viruses was through HIPS and sandboxing. [editline]07:07PM[/editline] And the internet security bundle includes both, so now I'm completely confused.

Honestly just get one decent AV and use common knowledge and you'll be good to go. Personally, I've got my router, Windows Firewall and Avira and that's all I need (+common sense).
As for threatfire, that looks much better, and it's completely separate from antivirus programs and I could actually test it on my current setup... I may have to try that. [editline]07:10PM[/editline] Noo automerge broken
CIS is okay once you disable trusted vendors.
Yeah it's awesome. That is some GOOD advertising, btw. A++
