My current computer:
OS: Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit
RAM: 2GB DDR2
Processor: AMD Athlon X2 Dual Core 5000+ (2.60Ghz)
Video Card: Nvidia Geforce 9400GT 512Mb
Power Supply: Some sort of 500W thing.
What I plan to Add/Replace:
RAM: http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/PID-MX15012%28ME%29.aspx (Adds up to 4GB)
Processor: http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/PID-MX25473%28ME%29.aspx
Video Card: http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/PID-MX26583%28ME%29.aspx
Adds up to $275 (around $280 plus GST)
I would like your opinion on what I have chosen, anything I should add on, or change.
(My budget is at 300$ maximum)
I am limiting my choices to the website above. I live in Calgary. Thanks in advance!

4850 or 5750 for the gpu then you are good.
Valueram is kinda meh. In addition, I'd get a 5750 instead of that GT240.
OP check that your mobo has a bios update to support am3.

Also the ram doesn't have to be the same speed the faster one will just downclock.

I got 2GBs of Value RAM.
It's aight.
Not horrible, not good, but worth it if you're on a low budget.

Tad bit more but well worth it.

Is this necessary? If so then why? I am unexperienced with BIOS and motherboard updating, and I do not want to screw up my computer for no reason. Even while looking at guides on this sort of thing I am reluctant to try it.
And here is my motherboard:

My most recent update on it was from June 2009, so it isnt the latest update but it isn't ancient.

Still isn't it. That is a ddr3 mobo and you cpu can not use ddr3 so not your mobo.
Pain in the ass to find the correct mobo. It is an Elitegroup motherboard with integrated GeForce 6100 anyways..
I ran HWiNFO32 (A program that gives you all your hardware information) to figure this out, and here is what it says:
Motherboard: Abit NF-M2S
Chipset: nVidia nForce 6100-405/430
BIOS Date: 06/10/08
BIOS Version: Unknown
I hope this helps, and my apologies for being technologically inept.
Never mind I believe this is the correct one!
