I'm not sure why. Specs: Phenom 955 Black edition Foxconn a7gm-s 2.0 mobo 4 gigz OCZ gold DDR2 ram What are some causes of this beep?
The beep when it starts is probably it POSTing. If it doesn't beep, you know it's broked.
your motherboard is talking to you, and each beep means something.
You're computer hates you.
The beep when it starts is probably it POSTing. If it doesn't beep, you know it's broked.
It doesn't beep when it starts. I'm on it right now and everything is going fine. [editline]07:22PM[/editline]
your motherboard is talking to you, and each beep means something.
Well yeah. It's a single, short beep. Not loud, But not soft.
It doesn't beep when it starts. I'm on it right now and everything is going fine.
Meh, only some motherboards beep when they start. Mine does, some of the older ones in my school do, my aunts does, your's doesn't. Oh well.
I got BIOS beeps right before my computer stopped working. Good luck to you! It's got something to do with your motherboard. Look up and print out the translator for the beeps before your computer stops working altogether so you know what it's trying to tell you,
Is it coming out of the case speaker? If so, it might be an overheat warning. Check bios settings.

I don't even know if it does.... I'll google the beeps to see what it means. [editline]07:25PM[/editline] All other beeps Memory related error My memory is working fine. [editline]07:26PM[/editline]
Look in the manual and see if it tells you what the beeps mean.
Don't have it on hand with me. Must wait till i get home.
Your computer is showing its love for you. Give it a nice hug and I forsee a great relationship for the both of you.
Sticky keys perhaps?
Your computer is showing its love for you. Give it a nice hug and I forsee a great relationship for the both of you.
Already tried that. Put my penis into the moving fan. Results were bad. [editline]07:33PM[/editline]
Sticky keys perhaps?
Don't think so. [editline]07:34PM[/editline] Temps are fine too.
Are some of the keys on your keyboard stuck down?

I thought someone was going to joke and say "There's a bomb in your computer". I'm impressed.
There's a bomb in your computer. also, what is your os? it could be a program. I know aviri anti virus, does a motherboard beep when it finds a virus.
Windows 7 Home Premium x64 [editline]08:16PM[/editline] it just did it again.
Restart and check hardware monitor inside bios for the temperatures Then try to find cpu warning temperature and cpu shutdown temperature settings.
My old computer used to beep as part of a voltage warning thing. It is definitely something very low-level, but likely either undervolting or overheating if no other immediate effects are evident, both of which would occur under stress. Is there any correlation here?
It's most likely the CPU / System fan failure option being set on in the BIOS. On some motherboards (particularly Gigabyte motherboards) the fan speed detector will stop working randomly for a split second and the system will beep because it thinks the CPU / System fan has failed. I have several boards that do this and it's more or less normal. If you can't stand random beeps then you can turn the fan failure detection off in the BIOS. It's likely not an overheating warning because it would beep at regular intervals with different tones like low-high-low-high.
Most people here are hella retarded, but the beeps are indicated by the motherboard beeping as a signal for something - are you by chance pressing many keys at once or have a cheap ass keyboard? This could be the problem.

It doesn't only beep when you hold down many keys. :downs:
It could be the board's SMART feature warning of you of imminent hard drive failure.
Get a new keyboard. Old keyboards from 95 are likely to beep when you are holding more than 2 buttons down at once.
