I'm building a computer with this motherboard: http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=122-YW-E173-RX-PB-R I need to know if its compatable with this processor: http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=PD925300775-R&cat=CPU Any help would be much appreciated!
Yep, it should work just fine. 775 socket on the motherboard, with a 775 socket processor. It's an old build though, are you on a tight budget or something?
Yes I am sadly. To be quite honest its my first build and I'm trying not to screw this up. I've already purchased a case with a 550 watt power supply and is supposed to fit mATX and ATX motherboards. the thing I'm worried about most is ordering the wrong motherboard/cpu combo or having the motherboard not fit correctly other than that the rest doesn't bother me.
why would you get a pentium D in this day and age and when you say "case with a 550 watt power supply" I'm going to assume you bought a terrible quality case with a godawful terrorist grade PSU included
Terrorists run on power supplies? Thanks for informing me.
Yeah, they do. Actually terrorists is only mindless robots who would never do any harm, but because of the terrible grade of their power supply, they sometimes end up exploding.

I honestly prefer a pentium D over a pentium dual core, and as stated above I just said that I'm new to computer building and I don't need your negative judgement on what I'm buying. If I bought something terrible ill find out later, but I'm fairly confident that what I've gotten isn't going to explode or catch fire or destroy my computer as the power supply has passed quality control and safety regulations.

Seriously, post your budget along with what you've already bought, and we'll give you a much more solid solution. There's no need to get all defensive.
I don't really like AMD much cause every experience I've ever had with them has been terrible. The only thing I like that they make are ATI graphics cards.
I don't really like AMD much cause every experience I've ever had with them has been terrible. Technology improves over time, having one or two bad experiences with one company doesn't mean you should stop buying from them. This also sounds dumb, but you should just take our advice instead of using your own half-assed opinion.
$350-$400 I've purchased a mid-sized ATX/mATX case with a 550 watt power supply. I'm to build a computer that can at least part time game while keeping upgradability in mind
I don't really like AMD much cause every experience I've ever had with them has been terrible.
I'm to build a computer that can at least part time game while keeping upgradability in mind
then why are you buying a 775 mobo and pentium D?
I'm guessing his 550w PSU came with his case, so it probably isn't of high standard.
Okay on the power supply/case combo I spent like 50$
Okay on the power supply/case combo I spent like 50$
What PSU and case is it?
the case has no specific brand although it was delivered in a box that just said "computer case" and in the top right corner said intel 38(degrees) and on the side says: (model no.) Q-216 B (N.W.) 4.0KG (G.W.) 5.0 (size) 450*217*456mm As for the power supply I cannot find a brand but I can give you the specs if you like

Chances are it wont be reliable.
May I also mention it came with an 80 mm blue led fan on the side panel. I'm still not sure of the compatability of the motherboard and processor with each other and would like someone else to reassure me that it will work because its not listed under the supported processors BUT it does say it supports pentium processors, so could someone else please carefully look over it and tell me if they would work with each other.
I'll be waiting for a thread from you in a months time entitled: "I can smell burning from my PC".
