Sup! I've had enough of my 5 year old PC and have decided to buy/build a new one. I have practically no knowledge within this area, so therefore I hope you guys could help me. Samsung SH-S223C/BEBE (Bulk) Intern AMD ATHLON II X4 630 2x Kingston DDR3 2GB 1333Mhz Antec Three Hundred Gamer Case Western Digital Caviar Green 1TB SATA2 Corsair Power Supply 750W TX Sapphire HD5850 1GB ASUS M4A78 PRO Total : 8365 kr = 1204$ The price should be within that range. The currency thing is pretty annoying. Anyhow would such a computer work? [editline]12:31PM[/editline] Currency thing makes it looks like very much. Should actually be around the 800-900$ range.
You can drop the PSU to 550-650 no problem, but other than that it looks ok to me, although a bit expensive for what you're getting.
Thanks, I'll change it to Corsair 650W TX. Do you know which one of CPUs are better, the Phenom II X3 720 BE or the AMD ATHLON II X4 630.

The 630 has four cores and no L3 cache. You should only be concerned about the L3 cache though if you do lots of multi-tasking. Quite simply, what was once L2 cache on motherboards now becomes L3 cache when used with microprocessors containing built-in L2 caches. Personally I would get the extra core being that I'm not a hardcore gamer.
What does multi-tasking mean? Like having 2 game up at the same time? [editline]07:29PM[/editline] I most of the time have around 10 word documents up, browser with around 20 tabs. I'd want to play a demanding game like let's say Crysis, without any problem at the same time as mentioned stuff are open.

I'm not saying that it will make your computer beast, but it does help a lot. It mostly helps in games that are more CPU intensive like GTA IV.
Thanks! I have a new problem now, will the 5850 fit inside the Antec Three Hundred case or is it too big?
it should fit
It will fit.
