so, i tripped over my cord and the entire left earcup stopped working. I have a gamecom 7.1 surround sound headset, and would rather not have it break. how can i fix this, and if it cannot be fixed by hand, where could I take it
Can we fix it? Nope it's fucked!

Now you need 2 girls. When you have 2 girls, get 2 more. Then it's 4 girls 2 cups.
when that happened to my headphones I tweaked the wire in different places until I found a point where if I held it at a certain angle sound would come through. so that was where the busted wire was. so I cut the cable above that point and soldered a new one on. basically the cable is broken at somepoint, hopefully it's close to the plug.
though if it's a headset I guess it would be much more complicated :[ that's the only solution I know, assuming it's the wire and not the actual speaker or something. maybe you can just get a whole new cable or something. companies need to make their stupid cables detachable.
Solder the wire back on.
you broke the cable at some point, if its waranty is still good just return it for a replacement, if not, check stress points along the cable first, such as where the cable connects to a plug, or volume control, or the headphones,

Try moving the cable around. You might be able to get the wires back together again and have it working.
Done it in the past.

is there an easy way of actually GETTING to the wires? After the rubberized finish on the connector, there is a hard plastic case.
also, there are ~6 places it COULD have broken. and something else that will make this much more difficult is the fact that it is surround sound.... are these wired differently?
a wire inside has been cut of
just remembered i got a two year no questioned asked warranty
woo
i've never owned a pair of headphones that has lasted more than six months
Headphones are made to break so you buy more.
Built for obsolescence or something like that.
Just open the back of the headphone and look for any wires that have come out, don't buy cheap headphones and they will last longer. £25 headphones last me about a year whilst those £10 things you can buy never lasted me more than what, a few months?
both gamecom headsets I've gotten is a piece of shit. In 6 months, one or either of the headset bendy-parts break. Then the headset speakers fall out. It's like they're intentionally made to shit out after a short amount of time. The funny part is I rarely put stress on my headset either, most of the time I wear it around my neck.
inb4 fat joke I'm 130 lbs.
I'm shit at maintaining headphones, but, what's more is that I have this fucking curse where whenever I break headphones, the left cup's fine, the right one's broken. ALWAYS.

I get the exact same thing, except that it's always the left ones that are broken!
Wanna swap ears?

That ALWAYS happened to me. I think 5 headphones of mine started only to work in the left ear.

Perhaps each person in the world has a "hazard ear." You either have your hazard ear be the left or the right.
