• New motherboard, microphone doesn't work.

So I recently installed a brand new motherboard and processor into my system, and after that my microphone simply has not wanted to work. I'm using a Roccat Kave 5.1, and when I listen to the microphone, using the options provided by windows, all I can hear is static noise. Everything else is working exactly like it should, so I don't think it's a hardware issue, however it didn't happen right after I got my new motherboard. Anyone who could tell me what's going on?
Test your mic on another device/port if possible. I had a headset a while back where the plastic covering for the jack actually prevented it from plugging in all the way. What makes it think it's not a hardware issue? Something failing overnight sounds like hardware to me.
