Perspective: Northern Coalition titan pilot. I hate to be fucking rude, goons knew that throwing out hundreds of fighter squads would do the server no good, theres a reason why we use long range titans for just about everything now, they actually work in tidi. They could have done the same and committed them all at long range with fax support outside of the keepstars weapons range but no, they do not want to commit titans to the grid. Early in the battle we discovered that space superiority carriers and super carriers could not hold back both the fighters and sub capital fleets. We sent in our first fleet of titans setup for extreme range, about 250km effective range. These titans have a hard time tracking most ships but we specifically target low transverse ships and begin thinning out the battleship fleets over the course of about 3 hours. At this point there was not enough incoming damage to stop the keepstar from repairing. In a valiant effort to buy time for more fighters to arrive, more sub capital fleets were sent into dangerous range of the keepstar's super weapon and our first group of titans alike, it worked. Some time after this the call was made to bring in the second fleet of titans, but only avatar class titans were allowed. The reason for this is due to the way ammo reloads in eve, lasers use crystals for ammo and their reload is instant meaning only a single server tick is needed to switch ammo types and ranges. This is also where I arrive in my avatar. (After twp hours of loading onto grid) We begin helping the carriers destroy incoming fighters and still clear any remaining or arriving sub cap fleets. Finally, after 7 hours there was just not enough left that could attack from the server taking a royal shit. If they really want to invade the north, they are just repeating their last attempt but not committing early enough in the fight to have the advantage. Citadels mechanics are bullshit, don't get me wrong but they are just running the propaganda spinner at this point. And yes, we still had another fleet of titans on standby along with so many faxes I couldn't even get a number.
