Then what's with the Mobile Me cloud?
It's free to have an account. It costs $100 per month, per 100 meg of storage. [editline]31st May 2011[/editline] Apple should just drop out on this one. It's not like we don't already have hundreds of thousands of other options, mostly free too.
has steve died yet? not being a dick im just asking. and I agree with binladen34 we have so many other options so why apple?

iCloud, lmao.
I must say, what an innovative name.
For once, Apple are playing catchup to Microsoft's Zune service. Doubt anyone's heard of the Zune Pass though.
So. How much is it going to cost?
Apple CEO Steve Jobs will announce a range of new products, including a widely anticipated cloud service, at its developer conference next week.
So we'll probably see the next iphone/ipod/ipad/imac? it's interesting that they're stepping into cloud, but knowing apple, the prices...
I'm hoping for a spotify type service for music. And making it so your appletv movies and tv shows are all saved on their servers and you stream them when you want to watch them. That will make me happy. I'm guessing they're just going to let you upload music you bought from them to their servers so you can stream it to your ipod for some reason. Blah.
So. How much is it going to cost?
this will most likely be a free service, apple has a bad, bad reputation of making products that are very over priced; the fact is that this is simply not as true as it used to be. I recently purchased a Motorola xoom which cost $70 more than it's iPad equivalent; the macbook air serves a similar example starting at $999 for the base model (currently, we will see it updated june 6th 2011) and it's competitors being at least $100 more. why would apple make a service that cost money to use when all of it's competitors have the ~same thing for free, it just doesn't make sense. Also, how the service will work will be a little interesting, apple already has itunes which has millions of songs, why have users upload duplicates of the songs apple already has? Instead we will see our library mirrored to the cloud, using whats already there. I'd imagine exceptions would need to be made, say you buy a CD that iTunes may not have, will you have to pay for additional storage? What if iTunes has an album, but you buy the physical CD, would you have to pay for the additional storage? Do users get a free set amount of storage? we will find out on June 6th. Tl;dr Apple is going to copy google and amazon, but it will be magical and revolutionary as always. /sarcasm
What sucks is that Google's is probably going to be free, but people will still pay money to use Apple's.

I thought Apple was finally starting to move on from the letter i
i honestly like the ipad cover even though i would never buy a ipad
yeah i like it but fuck 40 dollars tbh.
I like the old days when Apple made shitty Mac computers and iPods...and nothing else.
Jesus, Steve looks bad.
Jesus, Steve looks bad.
Taking bets on how long until he dies.
yeah i like it but fuck 40 dollars tbh.
If you can fork out enough money for an iPad 2 another 40 dollars is nothing. It's pretty neat, as far as I recall when you flip the cover back it turns on the screen for you automatically and sleeps when you flip it back over.
I bet Apple will claim that they've invented cloud storage.
1 : Buy cheap web host and domain (£15/y) 2 : FTP all of your media onto this server. 3 : ?????. 4 : Profit. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to set something like this up. I have a similar setup to grab files off my home computer for my droid.
1 : Buy cheap web host and domain (£15/y) 2 : FTP all of your media onto this server. 3 : ?????. 4 : Profit.
um most web hosts have stipulations against using it as file storage [editline]1st June 2011[/editline] also ftp is awful for what most people want "cloud" storage to be able to do
For once, Apple are playing catchup to Microsoft's Zune service. Doubt anyone's heard of the Zune Pass though.
Apple is always late, but somehow more popular.
