It's not a game I particularly asked for a sequel on, but I'm thankful they're doing it because the design looks pretty good with how much they changed. I just hope hand to hand is free enough to offer some tricky business to pull off. It also looks a little loose like the fists never actually make contact. Maybe a bit of body damage would have helped, aim where you're punching, but non the less looks like a blast coop.
Getting all excited...
To be completely honest, that was a horrible trailer or whatever you want to call it. Kind of gave the game an amateur and laughable view.

I thought it did a great job showing off what's new and what the gameplay is like, that's the purpose of a gameplay trailer. It even made me a little interested in the story and characters. My only complaint is they kept doing that trick where they cut the footage middle of an animation into a different scene where he's doing that same animation, so it looked like the player was just teleporting all over the place mid punch and made it confusing.

I think what made it look bad is the fact that they obviously don't have much new to show off, quite a lot of it just looked like an UE3 port of the original, most of the assets were reused.
I wonder if it's still on the source engine? it's kinda hard to tell from some shots

I liked that it showed off coop, showed the open world (which completely changes how the game progresses and it plays), showed off abilities and the skill trees that give you new stuff when advancing, and showed off some neat little situational moments that will make the quests varied. As a guy who really disliked the first game, I find myself genuinely hyped for this sequel. Also the recycled art assets you talk about are the 2 main characters. Fair enough they could have updated their model, this game isn't all that pretty, but gameplay wise I'm ready for it.
zeno clash is one of my favorite games
and that was a really mediocre trailer

It's unreal engine 3.
I really like the combat in zeno clash.
It looks nice, but I'm afraid that they'll overcomplicate the combat with too many abilities and magic.

Why did they switch from Source to UE3?

It's kinda tricky to make open world games with Source.
