Game used to be fun, but in the patch that came with the Steam move they made it a lot more twitch shooter-esque and the average fight time went from 10-20 seconds to less than 5 so it doesn't really feel like you're walking around in a big ol mech anymore. :\

Definitely not playing it now if what you say is true.
Felt awesome in the beta, clunky but brutal combat just like a Mech Sim should be. Feels twitchy as shit now, more like an exoskeleton than a proper mech. Shame, had so much potential. :(

Anyways, it plays exactly the same as pre-ascention.
I miss the CBT1 build. I actually have a working copy of the very final alpha build of Hawken, with the console commands all unlocked. :v: However, it only has two working maps (Sahara/Bazaar and Andromeda/Prosk) and a test version of Valkyrie (Front Line), logging into my actual account drives the client crazy since the mechs in my garage in the live build barely match the alpha options, aaaaaaand none of that matters because I signed an NDA and as far as I know they're basically never lifting it, so I can't share it I wonder if Bazaar still has the remnants of the tunnel under the map mesh. There was originally a bit of an underground area, but it was partially removed. I wonder what kind of a response I'll get if I go rocking the alpha camo. I basically had to stop playing because 4fps does not win you any battles, but I'm almost done building my new machine.
I hoarded a load of credits for this game without ever actually playing it and I'm not sure why.
I have fun with Hawken every now and then but there is just something about the game that doesn't make me stick to it. The artstyle is great, the movement and shooting is particularly good for a F2P game, and its not pay2win or buggy whatsoever but I just never feel like playing it.
I hoarded a load of credits for this game without ever actually playing it and I'm not sure why.
I still have something like $25 worth of gold for Tribes Ascend I'll never use :v:
I'll stick with Robocraft, then. At least I get the combat I wanted out of that.
Just invest in the Chris hounds successor MAY and you'll get that heavy clunky mech fighter you've all been waiting to come around again.
