The running animations look pretty good. Does anybody know what the status on VOIP is going to be in this game? They also need to make it so that you can only spawn on the squad leader. And in the scoreboard, show what class everybody on your team is, so you can decide what class is needed for the good of the whole team.
Since we got few shots of the new soldier models are there pictures of all the classes from the alpha?
Am I supposed to be impressed by this? [img_thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/lolwhat3.jpg[/img_thumb] Infinite sprint, allowing people to bunny hop out of damage at a distance. This is the only map they're show casing, and in the level it seems to be brown and gray. I suppose it's fitting seeing as how the building collapsed, but even before that, the city seemed dull. I imagine with it being Call of Battlefield, the maps will still be relatively linear. Offer two side ways, and the middle route whilst consisting of a box map. In all honesty, I don't think they put much effort here. Maybe it's because the video is short, but with my picture, and what I'm seeing, it doesn't seem much worth $90. $90 being the initial game($60 digital) and $30 for the premium pass, or season pass, whatever they're going to call it. Battlefield pass, I don't know, to keep getting current maps or weapons.

The guy playing plays like he is fucking drunk

We get it, you don't like Battlefield any more, fuck off posting in every thread looking for tiny things wrong and things that aren't even wrong to complain about. It's just starting to look petty now.

I am looking forward to Battlefield 4.
oh hey, its battlefield 3 with a duller color palette and more destruction stuff.

I'm stating facts and opinions, which I'm freely able to, as long as it isn't rude or insulting to anyone, right? I love Battlefield. I loved it since 1942, just not 3. I didn't state that I dislike BF4, so you cannot jump to that conclusion. I'll PM a mod if my posts aren't recommended in this thread, because I don't want to start anything. The initial post that I made was just pointing out things. Like I said, I don't want to be rude or insulting, I just want to have a discussion about the games development and gameplay.
Holy shit those map textures look pretty damn bad. I mean they look so flat, claylike, and also gross looking bumpmaps. Even though I have no plans on ever buying the game, I just hope that the final product won't look anywhere near that.
He has a point this time
It's a game in alpha, expect weird shit like the picture to happen. It's good it happened now, they can't fix it if they aren't aware it's happening after all. As for "bunny hopping out of damage", that's no different from earlier BF games that were a lot more arcadey control wise. Comparing it to CoD is still retarded, the games diverged massively, denying it is stupid. As I said, the game is still in Alpha, bugs, weirdness and general incompleteness are going to be there, BF3 changed a ton between Alpha and release. Also I never flamed, so uhhh, yeah.
In this thread I learned everyone is a highly respected video critic who can make judgments on alpha's of games, that 100% reflect the final product.
Looks a bit bland, almost as if there's something wrong with a few of the textures? Surely they aren't meant to be so plaster-grey and flat? I'm sort of curious about BF4 and its new features but in the back of my head I know the multiplayer it's gonna be the same ADD-paced desk-slamming frustrating clutter as the previous game.

There is other footage of the alpha that looks just like this and half the skyscrapers 1 giant grey texture.

These are dev textures you fools.

Also I never flamed, so uhhh, yeah.
Actually, fire the RPG in BF3. The same bug consists there as it does here. To be quite honest, if it exists in both games, the final version doesn't look like it will be changed much. Maybe they might, I don't know. I won't know until the final product. Why am I not allowed to pass off judgement about a game in an alpha stage? That is being made with millions of dollars in mind, as well as hundreds of people developing it? The things that are seen in this little amount of video are barely anything to judge the final game with, of course, but it's still gameplay. Something that has been finalized in terms. It's in the game, perhaps an early release version, or a close to version. It's still in there. I cannot make a comment in notes that some other people will notice, and say, "Hey wait, this guys right! I don't want to see this in a final million dollar game!" ? I said it's relative to Call of Duty, because the gameplay doesn't change much. The teamwork is null, and it's whoever runs and rampages the most, or gets the most kills. It's not about an offensive team or defensive team. It's about who gets the most kills in most matches. I doubt that's changed much from when I last played Battlefield 3. That's what I always saw. People don't want to work together, and the other modes that they put in, are rarely played. If they are it's just small groups and set times. All you see is TDM servers most populated, because it's fast, and a frenzy of kills to get rewarded with weapons. That is relative, if not equal, to Call of Duty gameplay, is it not?
These are dev textures you fools.
Phew
I like the atmospheric effects, they're a nice touch.
I see nothing wrong with the way that helicopter was piloted.

That is relative, if not equal, to Call of Duty gameplay, is it not?
I dunno what BF3 you've been playing, but conquest, ctf, rush, etc. servers all have a decent population. TDM has quite a large population because it's faster, that shouldn't come as a surprise, if you just want a quick match or want to grind unlocks and service starts it's okay for that. But other modes are still very populated, just because one or two modes happen to be similar to CoD does not mean the game is, the gameplay is still quite different. As for teamwork, now the game is dying down more there is more and more teamwork evident. Were you really expecting a game with a massive advertising budget to attract nothing by hardcore operators who don't veer from the spec ops manual of killing Russians? Of course it would have a ton of idiots who rush ahead for kills, from what I remember, BF2 suffered this greatly in it's infancy too (and hell, it still has the problem today). As for problems in the alpha, point them out, that's fair enough. But pointing out things that aren't actually bugs (bunny hopping doesn't really work, but people have a habit of jumping out of fire still anyway) is kinda pointless. The alpha probably hasn't received any massive updates since being put out, as they will be rolled into the open beta when that comes about. That will be more representative of the final game, the alpha is just here to test core mechanics and functionality. Not to ensure the game is pretty or perfect.

If anyone is concerned that BF4=BF3.5, this video should give you a lot more details on the multiplayer aspect.
It looks grey and brown.
oh hey, its battlefield 3 with a duller color palette and more destruction stuff.
If BF3 is BF4 then SR3 is SRIV. The reason it looks dull is because the map has no real texture in it.
The current Alpha is a stress test, all the grey are dev textures.
A bloo bloo bloo he doesn't like a game I like who does he think he isssss
There's a difference between not liking a game, and being an ass about it.
It looks grey and brown.
"Shit, the fans are complaining that we used too much blue in the color grading. What do we do for the sequel?" "No colors but the explosions and muzzle flashes!" Granted, like riki2cool said, it's probably not fully textured, and it sure as hell isn't finished yet. But something tells me it's still not gonna make up for the lack of color in a truly significant way..
